Thanet continues to cook up a culinary storm; from markets to excellent eateries, shores to orchards, furrows to fields. And its great-for-gourmets events are satisfying stomachs too. Add a handful of micro pubs, drizzle on some irresistible food trails, and you have the recipe for an exciting gastronomic destination.

Meanwhile,Star of the Sea, fish and chip shop in Broadstairs is frying high after scooping "Kent’s Best Fish and Chips” prize in the Potato Council's Choice Chip Awards

And as well as all that fine produce, all around us, all the time regular and one-off events in Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate are great for gourmets.

On the last Sunday of each month, the award-winning Cliftonville Farmers' Market combines a smorgasbord of local foodstuffs with cracking cliff-top views o r on the second Sunday of the month pop along to the Thanet Farmers Market. While the acclaimed deli, wet fish and butchery counters at Quex Barn in Birchington showcase Thanet flavours day-in-day out.

Each Easter foodies flock to the Broadstairs Food Festival Spring Fair, where 50 stalls are packed with prime hot and cold local food and drink.

At the unmissable Easter Beer Festival at Margate Winter Gardens where some 200 draught real ales, ciders and perries will be lined up to be supped. Then there's Thanet's burgeoning micro pub scene and Ramsgate Brewery, all just waiting to be explored.

In Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, the autumn is packed with prime produce too. October's three-day Broadstairs Food Festival showcases our finest meats, cheeses, pickles and breads, plus Kent wines, ciders and ales.
